James ‘Jim’ Robert Bridges, loving husband, devoted father and proud brother passed away peacefully at home on December 19th 2021.

Jim was born on January 30th, 1947, in Olympia Washington, the middle of 8 children. Jim graduated from North Thurston High School, spent a few years in the Army in Europe, and then earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington. In 1980, Jim married his longtime love Judy (Woods) and settled in Redmond raising their daughter Morgan.

As a native of the Northwest, he enjoyed so many outdoor activities but truly loved being able to cast a line on a local river, fly-fishing, and exploring new places. Jim was an effervescently positive person who was always interested in people’s families, interests, careers, and pets. He had such a positive impact on peoples lives with his genuine care for their success and well-being. He will be dearly missed.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Cary “Bob” and Mother Vera. Jim is survived by his wife Judy and daughter Morgan, 7 beloved siblings and countless caring relatives and friends.

The family is eternally grateful for the care and support from so many of Jim’s doctors and medical teams at UW-SCCA including Dr. Shailender Bhatia, Dr. Paul Martin, Dr. Paul Nghiem, Dr. Jay Liao and all of their teams. You all gave us 6 years that were not promised, but greatly valued.

A celebration of Jim’s life is being planned for July 16th 2022 with Hawaiian shirts and bright colors required. Please reach out to the family for details. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jim’s memory to the Merkel Cell Research Fund at UW-SCCA https://merkelcell.org/join-the-fight/donate/
