Charlotte Mae Mackaman, age 88, passed away peacefully October 21, 2021 previously surviving cancer five times. She was born January 1, 1933 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Charles and Velma Hohlbein. She later married her love, Fred Mackaman in Bakersfield, California on April 27, 1956.

In 1968, Fred and Charlotte Mackaman moved to Boca Raton, Florida where they raised their four children. When Charlotte’s children were young, it wasn’t unusual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Charlotte raised her children to be independent, strong minded, and caring of others just as she was.

Charlotte’s greatest loves were her family and kitties. Because our pets give us unconditional love and enrich our lives, she would be honored to have donations made to any local Humane Society, Pet Adoption Center or Rescue.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Fred Mackaman, son Mark Mackaman and his wife Terry Mackaman, daughter Shelley Mackaman and her two grandchildren Chelsea Mackaman-Lofland and Catalina Mackaman-Lofland, daughter Cheryl Nolting, and her son Michael Mackaman.

When I think of her, the word LOVE is how I will remember her.

She loved her family so deeply.
She loved her cats and spread love in kindness to those who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Her beautiful smile, and sweet tone were comforting.
Her laugh was infectious and boy did we share a good amount of those.

She always genuinely cared about those around her.
Charlotte will always be admired for her strength and positive spirit.
