Emil Feczko

 

Emil Feczko died June 7, 2021 at the Evergreen Health Hospice Center in Kirkland Washington.  He was living alone in his home as a widower from 2006 until he was admitted to the Hospice Center.

Emil was born the 11th of 12 children in Bayonne New Jersey on Christmas day 1928 by European immigrant parents. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a radio operator aboard a B29. He parachuted out of a B29 going down over Japan along with the rest of his crewman. He was employed by New York Life Insurance Company his entire married life with his wife Susan who passed away in 2006. His main goal in the last six months of his life was to join Susan.

He retired in 1989. He enjoyed playing baseball, golf and softball. He won a blue ribbon for his apple pie at the Western Washington State Fair.  He graduated from Gonzaga University in May 1956. He was married to Susan McDonald a week later in Spokane Washington. He was the only one of 12 children in his family to graduate from college.

Emil is survived by his three sons George Feczko (wife Mary Ann) of Redmond, Washington, John Roy-Feczko (wife Annie) of Edmonds, Washington and James Feczko of Napa, California.  Two grandchildren Robert John Feczko MD of Menlo Park, California and Emily Ann Pinto (husband Preston) of Houston,  Texas both children of George and Mary Ann. One great grandchild Maximilian Leo Pinto son of Preston and Emily Ann. Three step grandchildren Dan, Brian and Carrie.

A funeral mass will be held at Saint Jude Catholic Church at 900am  on Monday June 14, 2021 located at 10526 166th Ave NE Redmond Washington 98052. Internment will be at Tahoma National Cementary in Kent, Washington.  No graveside service will be conducted.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be given to the Poor Clare Sisters of Spokane at 4419 North Hawthorne Street  Spokane, Washington 99205 in Emil’s name.
