On Monday, September 21st, 2020, Michael Warren Reith, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 74. Mike was born on August 20th, 1946 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to William and Dorothy Reith.  He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War, during which time he met Janet Irons.  On July 17th, 1966, they were married, and spent their first year of marriage in Okinawa, Japan.  After leaving the Air Force, Mike attended the University of Washington and received image of Michael Reitha bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.  Together, he and Janet raised two daughters, Keren and Rebecca.

Mike loved reading and could often be found absorbed in a book or newspaper.  His favorite books and movies were sci-fi or fantasy, and he also enjoyed reading scientific journals and magazines.  He was always interested in planes, taking flying lessons and attending air shows. He was known for his sense of humor, his quick wit, and his love of debate. Mike was skilled at electrical engineering and worked for -a few different local companies, including Western Gear, Boeing and Microsoft.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, William, and his mother, Dorothy.  He is survived by his wife, Janet, his two daughters, Keren and Rebecca, his three sisters, Cathy, Mary and Sue, his five grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Samantha, Jefferson, and Olivia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service for immediate family members will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, where Mike will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America at   https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate
