Richard Barry Peters, of Woodinville, WA, passed away peacefully at home, after a battle with cancer we thought he had won. He was 58.

Barry had a passion for life. Besides being a fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Starbucks coffee, he enjoyed skiing, reading, listening to music, taking his dogs to various dog parks, and spending time with family and friends. Some of his fondest memories were of the years he played softball, attended barbecues, and went camping with family and friends from the Ed-Lynn. Barry had many good times sitting around campfires, whether he was just reading a book or talking and laughing with friends. His favorite place to camp was at Conconully State Park, partly because you can just walk down the street to a restaurant in town where they serve great breakfast and coffee. He took up skiing later in life and absolutely loved it. He always jumped at the chance to go whenever anyone mentioned it.

He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Peters, mother Barbara Mattson, brothers Scott Peters and Steve Peters, stepfather Dick Mattson, and stepmother Joann Peters.

Barry is survived by his wife, Diana Peters, stepdaughters Kylie (Cody) Helmuth and Lacey (Tyler) Helmuth, and siblings: Bob (Bonnie) Peters, Tracy (Keith) Mehus, Terrie Jo Grove, Linda (Dave) Zombori, Jena (Bill) Cornehl, Dan (Leslie) Farrar, Stacy (Teresa) Mattson and Brian (Emily) Mattson
