Jane Eleanor Mottram (Hooker), 89, died peacefully on February 6, 2020.  Her health had been in decline in recent months.  She is preceded in death by her husband, John J. Mottram Jr.  and daughter, Carol Mottram Bolton.

She is survived by her sister, Beverly Gettings (Hooker) and, 4 children; Janie Huggins (Aaron), John J. Mottram III (Terri), Mary Cain (Pat) and Michael Mottram.   Jane had 11 grandchildren; Brian Foster, Christopher Foster, Megan Bolton, Jenna Bolton Drennan (Alan), Cooper Mottram, Joseph Cain (Sara), Callie Cain, Teresa Cain, Charles Cain, Michael Foster (Kerri) and Shawn Foster.  She was fortunate to have 3 great grandchildren that she spent a recent Thanksgiving with; Logan, Ashton, and Ian Foster.

Jane was born in Lafayette on September 21, 1930.  She grew up in Lafayette, Indiana, where she also met her high school sweet heart and husband, Joe.  She graduated from Purdue University with a teaching degree in 1952.

Joe and Jane moved to Arizona to start their family in 1952, where Jane was a teacher.  Jane continued to teach intermittently throughout her life.  Their family grew to 7 over the next 12 years, and their life led them to California, and then ultimately Washington in 1982.  Jane and Joe took on parenthood a second time when their 2 grandchildren, Megan and Jenna Bolton, came to live with them in 1990.

Jane was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother whose kindness was always available for those who needed it.  She continued to love learning throughout her life and became a medical assistant later in life.  A job that brought her much joy and kinship.   Her passion was always to support others in her faith and life.

Services will be held at Holy Family Church in Kirkland on Friday, February 14.  A rosary will be held at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM.  There will be a reception directly following the mass at Holy Family.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be given to Holy Family’s sister parish St. Joseph’s in Malawi, Africa.  Donations can be sent to Holy Family Church in Kirkland, who will then route them to Malawi.

    Hi Mottrams,
This is beyond late- but thinking of all of you and did not know what I would find when I searched.
So sorry to hear you mother passed, but what a beautiful life she had; blessed with children and grandchildren.
I think of Carol Anne often- my second girl is named Catherine Anne and she has heard many stories of where the “Anne” comes from.
    Love to you all.
    Bonnie
