Joanna (Jody) was born in Spokane, Washington to Theodore R. State and Mary State. She attended Mary Cliff High School and Gonzaga University. Joanne was married to her loving husband, Jack, for 41 years. She was an avid Gonzaga Basketball fan. She loved dachshunds and spending summers at Lake Chelan and Wapato Point. Jody is survived by; her brother Thomas State, her daughter Sherri Wells and her grandsons, Arren and Mitchell Wells. She was preceded in death by her sons, Steven and Jerome. Jody was a prayerful, giving and loving person with a sense of humor. She loved and adored her family.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 24th at 11:00:

This great lady will always be remembered! Her sense of humor, enthusiasm for the ‘Zags, and boundless love for her family (she is my aunt and godmother) made her a treasure to us all. Godspeed, Jody – we’ll see you on the other side!
