Sue Martin

Sue passed away peacefully on November 22, 2019 with her loved ones at her side. Born on October 2, 1948 to William and Virginia Wilson in Sacramento, Calif., Sue grew up in California and Washington. She was married at a young age and tragically widowed at 21, left to raise her young son Stephen. Not to be daunted, Sue went to work for the telephone company becoming one of the first women to climb poles and install telephone lines!  She went on from there to many office administration positions.

She later met and married Arnold “Marty” Martin, and had her daughter Nichole. They moved their family to Washington where Sue enjoyed gardening and antiquing. She loved the hunt of garage sales and would check the papers for estate sales “just in case”. Sue never missed a chance to be in or around the water, be it pool, lake, or the ocean.

In later years her grandchildren Jimmy and Hank were her greatest joy she loved spending time with them.

Sue always had the right thing to add to any room or any outfit. Everything was more fun if Sue was there. Sue loved the Lord Jesus Christ and her family above all else.

She is survived by her daughter Nichole, Son-in-law Jeff Bowie, son Stephen, grandchildren Jimmy, Hank, Logan, Hailey, and three great grandchildren, Sister Karen, Brother-in-law Gordon Kirkland, and her nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Arnold, and her brothers, Bill and Jimmy.

We know right now Sue is pain free and singing and dancing with the angels.

Memorial Service will be December 15th at 3pm at The 7th Adventist Church (Trinity Church) in Kirkland followed by a reception.

Address is:
6400 108th Ave NE
Kirkland, WA 98033

On Friday, November 22, 2019, my friend Suzanne made heaven a better place. I’ve been thinking of what to write but until now, I can’t find words worthy enough to describe this wonderful human being. As a friend she made, she’ll always be in my prayers and memories and in my heart for as long as I live. I promise you will never be forgotten, my dear friend. I promised you then, I promise you now, I’ll promise you tomorrow and it’s a promise I’m keeping as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow.

You were always quick with a smile and a wave. Sharing stories throughout the many years I’ve known you. I’m so pleased you were part of our lives. You will always be around with reminders of crafts, your love of yard sales and our catching up visits in our yards. You were a great friend.
I know your happy now. With much love and kindness for you and yours.
