Norbert Albert Puetz passed on October 29th, 2019.  He was 98 years old.

Norbert was born in Mantador , North Dakota on February 16th, 1921.  Norbert was raised on a farm, but farming was not in his future.  He joined the navy in 1939 at the age of 18.  He served on the USS Maryland, USS Prairie, USS Briareus, and the USS Oceanus.  His ship provided offshore support at the battle of Iwo Jima.  He was honorably discharged on October 6th, 1945.

After his service he settled in Washington state and went to work as an electrician at Puget Power.  He retired from Puget Power at the age of 62 in 1981.  He raised his family in Woodinville, Washington.

After retirement, Norbert enjoyed spending winters golfing in Needles California.  He shot a hole in one on the 150 yard 12 hole in Needles.  He loved to golf, dance, fish and bowl.  He bowled well into his 90s.

Norbert was a soft-spoken man and loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was a son, a brother, a father, a grand and great grandfather.  He will be missed.

Butch and I always loved seeing Norbert when we went visiting you and Dave. He was so very healthy for so long almost made you think he would be around forever. But we all have our time. We will miss him. We are so sorry for your loss but know it was the right time for him to move on to bigger and better times.

Many memories of time spent at Uncle Leo’s farm with our Puetz cousins. Pulling wild mustard in the south field was probably the first job I ever had! 🙂 Then after many years, playing golf in Needles, Ca and my visit to Washington when Amy lived in Puyallup. Oh, to be able to relive those days! RIP, Norbert. Thanks for all the laughing we did when we were together. I’ll miss you.
