1940-2019

Robert (Bob) Arlis Lee Gentry age 78, of Woodinville WA passed peacefully February 21, 2019 at the Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland WA. Bob was born April 27, 1940 in Russell Springs KY.

He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. Bob was proud of his service in the U.S. Army.  He became a successful drywall contractor truck driver and school bus driver. His bus kids referred to him as “Bus Driver Bob”.  He mentored many young men and women into the drywall profession.

Bob dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, brother and sisters, brother in law and sister in law, nephews and nieces, great nieces and nephews. Bob beamed with every gathering and phone call.

He married Charleen Jane Fowler July 30, 1976.  Bob was preceded in death by his Parents Hollis and Alice Gentry; Sisters Edna Stafford and Lula Flatt; Brother Arnold Gentry; Son Robert A. Gentry and Nephew Charles L. (Scooter) Hughes.  He leaves behind his wife Charleen Gentry Woodinville, WA; Children Donald Gentry and wife Christi Russell Springs KY, John Gentry and wife Robin Granite Falls WA, Erin Gentry-Rettig Woodinville WA, Erica Angle and husband David Oroville CA;  Grandchildren Major R.J. Gentry and wife Krista Fort Leavenworth KA, Yolanda Smith Oroville CA, Ben Gentry Lacey WA, Taulton Gentry Russell Springs KY, Jordyn Gentry Everett WA, Christopher Gentry Granite Falls WA, Gabriella Sheerin Burien WA, Robert Rettig Seattle WA, Patricia Angle Chico CA, Samantha Angle Reno NV, David Angle Oroville CA;  Great Grandchildren Sydnee Huff and Savana Huff Oroville CA; Sister and Brother in Law Randy and Kathy Hughes Snohomish WA; Nephews and Nieces Jerry Hughes and wife Heidi Los Vegas NV, Dick Hughes and wife Kelli Kirkland WA, Joe Hughes and wife Emily, Clearview WA;  Great Nephews and Nieces Taylor Hughes Covington WA, Peyton Hughes, Texas, Blessing Hughes Los Vegas NV, , Megan and Sarah Hughes Kirkland WA, Scout Hughes and Campbell Hughes Clearview WA; Sisters Ruby Barnett Franklin IN, Wanda Beasley Columbus IN, Dorothy Dyer Russell Springs, KY; and beloved friend and adopted family member Mary Sue Linville, Woodinville WA who helped care for Bob daily in his final months.

The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff of the Evergreen Hospital 4^th floor and ICU unit.

A graveside service will be at 2 PM March 11, 2019 at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240^th Street, Kent WA 98042 (no flowers please). Bob’s Celebration of Life will be on his birthday April 27, 2019 from 12 PM (noon) to 3 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 11440 Avondale Road NE, Redmond WA 98052.
