Lynn Shapley

Lynn S. Shapley, of Remond, WA, died on December 17, 2018 at age 66.

She was born on July 3, 1952 in Santa Monica, CA to Kenneth and Annabelle Latzer.

She graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1970, went on to become a nurse and was married to Dr. Steven Shapley in 1976. After his untimely death in 1979, she persevered and raised their infant daughter while working as the Director of Nursing at Las Encinas Mental Hospital in Pasadena and also completed her Master’s Degree in Healthcare from Cal State LA in 1982.

In 1983 she relocated to Lubbock, TX and worked for many years as the manager of a family health clinic. Her love of nature took her to the Northwest in 1994 and she spent her remaining years in and around Seattle working for Group Health and Overlake Hospital among others. In more recent years she had a thriving long term care insurance business and was an avid bridge player holding a Life Master title from ACBL. She was fiercely independent and loved her family. She is survived by her brother, Michael Latzer, daughter, Sara Lowry, and two grandchildren that she adored.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary.
