Normand Joseph Daigneault

Normand Joseph Daigneault was born on May 22nd. 1931 (Palm Sunday) to Arthur & Yvonne (Rheault) Daigneault in Franklin, New Hampshire. He was one of six children-five of whom were girls. Normand attended St. Mary’s Catholic Elem.School and graduated from Franklin High School.

At the age of 20 Normand joined the USAF where he served almost 21 yrs in communications. Amongst his assignments were California, Japan, France, Illinois, Northern Italy and  McChord AFB in Tacoma.

In 1961, Normand met Sally Coombs and they were married in 1962 in Canterbury, England. Their marriage lasted 56 yrs. until Normand’s death on August 19th of this year. They had 3 sons. Paul, who passed away on June 2nd. of this year; John and Mark as well as Benjamin, whom they inherited 5 yrs. ago.

In addition to his wife, Sally and his sons, Normand is survived by daughters-in-law Kathryn, Nancy, Rhonda and Clarisse, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. There will be a Mass of Christian burial on Sept. 1st at 11am. in Holy Rosary Church. The burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass. On Sunday, Sept. 9th, immediately following the Noon Mass there will be a potluck Celebration of Life in the old parish convent.

    1963-2018

    Paul was born to Normand and Sally Daigneault on Palm Sunday, April 7th. 1963 in Belleville, Illinois and passed away on Saturday, June 2nd. 2018 in Tacoma WA.

    Paul attended Holy Rosary School, Bellarmine Preparatory School, Pierce College and Clover Park Vocational College. For more than 30 years Paul worked as a Maintenance Analyst for Boeing Aerospace.

    In 1991 Paul married Kathryn Gilmore, his soul mate, who remained the Love of his Life until his death. They raised two daughters, Lynsey and Gillian and a son, Nathan. Paul is survived by his wife, Kathryn and their children, as well as his parents, Normand & Sally Daigneault, and three brothers, John (Nancy), Mark (Rhonda) and Benjamin (Clarisse). Paul was a Baptized Catholic his whole life.

    A funeral service was celebrated in Holy Rosary Church in Tacoma on Saturday, June 23rd.

    A celebration of Life followed in the old convent. Inurnment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date.
