Elizabeth “Libby” Van Ness

Elizabeth Van Ness

In loving memory of our mother, Elizabeth “Libby” Van Ness.  Libby was born 80 years ago in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Horace and Irene Craig. She passed away on July 4, 2018 in Kirkland, Washington after complicated health issues.  She was a wonderful mother who moved out to Seattle in her 20s to start her life and met a terrific circle of friends through the years.  Libby was the beloved wife of the late Ervin “Bud” Van Ness.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Bill and Dick Craig; and sister Roberta Benson. Libby is survived by her sons Craig and Robert Van Ness; daughter Peggy Van Ness; brother Thomas Craig; and grandson Tyler Van Ness.  She had a passion for volunteering at the Northshore and Edmonds Senior Centers, doing crafts, was an avid reader, collecting recipes and cooking, and being with friends and family.  If you would like to make a donation, please do at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  A celebration of life will be private.

Thank you for knowing and being part of our Mother’s life.

Love the Van Ness Children,

Craig, Robert, and Peggy
