Cosmina Pop-Swendt

Cosmina Pop-Swendt

Cosmina Pop-Swendt joined our Lord on the early morning of May 11, 2018, after a valiant fight against cancer for two years.

Cosmina was born in Brasov, Romania on August 12th, 1972 to the late Emil Lupsa and Avrica Pop. She was very close with her brothers Ovidiu, Rares and sister Alga.

Cosmina was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, daughter, nurse, and member of her church and community. Cosmina was compassionately dedicated to God and regularly attended Sunday services with her Romanian community in Mount Lake Terrace, Washington.

Her sense of humor brought both laughter and happiness to her friends and family. Cosmina loved having friends near her and especially making her famous and highly anticipated tiramisu for them.

As a nurse, she provided the highest level of care to all of her patients and was known to sing and dance for them. Cosmina was meticulous in all aspects of her life, and she especially paid special attention to the safety and well being of everyone in her life.

Prior to her passing, Cosmina accepted Jesus as her personal savior and now resides in Heaven where she awaits to meet those she has left behind.

Cosmina is survived by her husband Gilbert Swendt, son David Swendt, mother Avrica Pop, father the late Emil Lupasa, brothers Ovidiu and Rares and sister Alga.

We love you and miss you. We will always remember you.

Cosmina will be greatly missed by Gilbert, David, Avrica, Ovidiu, Rares, Alga, Ezekiel, Julia and all those family and friends who were fortunate to have known her.

Dear Cosmina sis, you have left me with a hole in my heart. Words can’t explain the pain I feel. I however, find comfort in knowing that you accepted Jesus as your savior. As we decided that we shall meet in Heaven I will look forward to the day that I see you again. I miss you and love you always sis.

I first met Cosmina when we were both starting as nurses when it was still Stevens Hospital 8 years ago, although we always worked opposite shifts I had a connection with her. She was one of the kindest, most genuine and thoughtful people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Not only was she a skilled and knowledgeable nurse, but she also expressed a lot of compassion for the sick. She cared deeply for her 5 west people and always had a smile and a hug and asked about how we were doing. She was also one of the strongest people I’ve known. She fiercly loved those she was close to and was very devoted and loyal. I know from the challenges she faced to be a mom and then to have David, she was over the moon in love with him, and so proud of him! She was was an amazing mom. She fought hard to be here as long as she could be. I’m so sad she isn’t here, I, along with so many others will miss her dearly.

I never met Cosmina and did not have the great fortune of being her friend. However, I am blessed to share some of the same friends that she chose to love and make everlasting impressions with. Their love for Cosmina was abundant and their pain was evident during Cosmina’s battle. I listened and As tears fell down the faces of my friends , I too cried for the loss of this lovely woman whom I had never met.

    Never more will the wind
    Cherish you again,
    Never more will the rain.

    Never more
    Shall we find you bright
    In the snow and wind

    The snow is melted,
    The snow is gone,
    And you are flown:

Like a bird out of our hands
Like a light out of our heart,
    You are gone.

Cosmina was someone who will leave a lasting impression among so many. I will miss her beautiful accent and the way she always wanted to know how I was doing, even through her own difficult times. How she loved fiercely, and how she would greet you with a hug. She knew what she wanted and would go after it. I have never met someone more determined to fight, and I am so heartbroken that she lost this fight.

    Dear sweet Cosmina,
I am fortunate to have met you, and I am sad that you are gone. We will meet again someday in a better place. Until then…

My dear friend. Our friendship was only a short 2 years but I sure treasured and enjoyed every minute of it. We had a lot of great chats and laughter over coffee. You always made the best treats, especially your Tiramisu. You were such a bright light. Even in the midst of your heartache and pain. There’s only comfort knowing you’re free from pain, wrapped in arms of the Lord. Love you.

    “Carry Me Home”
My loved ones do not cry
    And worry of me
    For like the dove
    I have been set free.
    God has called me
    To my mansion on high
    Just there among the clouds
    In the deep blue sky.
    I HAVE NO PAIN
    No SUFFERING to do
    I have been called home
And I know you will too.
    So beat hard and fast
    Little wings off white
    And carry me home
    Before the night.

The night is bright, with a starlit sky, I sit and think, as time passes by. Oh starry night, with a moonlit sky, take me away, and tell me why. Give me a reason, for love’s end, give me a reason, for why I lost a friend. I sit and think, all night.
May God forgive and accept her soul into the Garden of Eden, near the throne of whom she seeks and loved!
We lost a great friend, but the universe received a new beautiful star. I love you Cos , my heart is empty, I don’t have enough words to say how much you will be missed .
Rest In Peace my dear friend…

This world is not my home I’m just passing through
my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue
the angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door
and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
O Lord you know I have no friend like you
if Heaven’s not my home then Lord what will I do?
the angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door
and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore

They’re all expecting me and that’s one thing I know
my savior pardoned me and now I onward go
I know He’ll take me through though I am weak and poor
and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
O Lord you know I have no friend like you
if Heaven’s not my home then Lord what will I do?
the angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door
and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore

Just up in Glory Land we’ll live eternally
the Saints on every hand are shouting victory
their song of sweetest praise drifts back from Heaven’s shore
and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
O Lord you know I have no friend like you
if Heaven’s not my home then Lord what will I do?
the angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door
and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore

John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, “ I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”

REST IN PEACE IN HEAVEN MY DEAR COSMINA.

    Love you always sis.

Dormi in pace suflet bun.
