John E Bainter

John E. Bainter passed away late in the evening on 12/3/2017, after a 6-month hard fought battle with cancer. John was 62 years old when he passed away.

John was born to Emery and Kathleen Bainter on 11/12/1955 in Bellingham WA.  John was raised in Bellingham WA; John was a proud graduate of Sehome High School and Western Washington University, where he received his BA in Political Science.

John spent his professional life as an electrician, a proud member of the IBEW local 46 since 1982; John helped build Bellevue, Seattle and other areas across the Puget Sound. There weren’t many things John couldn’t fix, either conventionally or with a little ingenuity and elbow grease.

John married twice, initially in 1983 to Tanya Walker; together the two raised 5 wonderful children. Later in life John reconnected with the love of his life Susan Cosentino. The two were happily married until Susan’s death in 2012. John and Susan knew each other for roughly 50 years, John loved Susan until the day he died.

Although he could not easily travel with his bad back, his never-ending love for knowledge and vast book collection kept him traveling on more adventures than one could ever hope to have. If you had a question, John had an answer.

John is survived by his sister Sally Bainter, her son Jason; his children: Matthew, Melanie, Torin, Griffin and Grant; and his grandchildren: Aria, Elsa, Emma and Payton. John was a very special man and will be missed very deeply by his friends and family.

A memorial service is to be held at Bayview Cemetery, 1420 Woburn St, Bellingham, WA 98229, December 18th, at 3pm
