She was born in Missouri, the eldest of two children. She traveled to many places, but lived in Honolulu for 23 years. Her husband of 60 years, Robert Edward Thompson, passed away in 2006. She will be interred beside him at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. A private memorial ceremony will be held by family members in the coming months. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Brother, and Father. Surviving family includes, daughter, Candice Moore, and son, Scott Thompson, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, a nephew and grand-niece.

Jeanne had a lifelong interest in literature, history, and in education, and her greatest interest was in her family. She devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren, and instilling strength, compassion and perseverance of character in all. She took pride in her children and grandchildren until her last day. She and her husband’s life had been filled with love, travel, and family events. Always sponsoring family reunions in many places in the United States; and hosting many family gatherings during the summer and during Christmas vacations bringing family together across the country from Honolulu to Atlanta, GA. She was a Mother, a sister, a daughter and, until her death, the matriarch of her family. She is missed and will be missed, but will live in the hearts of her family and friends.
