Mary Clare Misek

Mary Clare was born on September 3, 1918 and passed away in Seattle WA September 18, 2017.  Mary was born in Sprague WA to Catherine (Tracy) McGough and James Leo McGough.  She attended school in both Sprague and Spokane WA, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Holy Names Academy.  Mary taught school for a few years in eastern Washington and then went to work for Rexall Drug. Mary met Milo Misek in Pasco, WA and they were married on August 19, 1949 in Fremont, NE.  They moved back to Pasco and then to Seattle and for many years Mary owned The White Shop on First Hill in Seattle which specialized in clothing for Drs. and nurses. After Milo’s death in 1974, Mary joined the Seattle Widow and Widowers Club where she found many enduring friendships and fun times. She loved reading a good book, playing pinochle and board games and was always willing to teach someone how to play.

Mary was dedicated to her family and nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by friends and family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Milo, by her brothers, Ralph, Joseph, William and Martin McGough and by her sister, Imelda Chesurin and her sister-in-law Eunice McGough.  She is survived by her children Marie (Martin) Taylor, Margaret (Rick) Morley, Cathie (Mark) Lindgren and Jim (Agnes) Misek and by her sisters, Rita Sterling, Barbara (Keith) Burns and sister-in-law Violet McGough.  Mary is also survived by eleven grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren!

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 12600 84th Ave NE, Kirkland WA 98034

Internment at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 37600 Pacific Hwy S., Federal Way, WA
