Paul Joichi

Paul Togo Joichi, 92, of Seattle, WA, died peacefully on January 9th.

 

Born in Delta, Colorado to Joe Kiyoshi and Masuko Joichi, and the last surviving of seven brothers.

 

A decorated World War II veteran, member of the 442nd Infantry Regiment and recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal.

 

Paul graduated from Waller High School in Chicago and received his Bachelor of Science from University of Illinois. He spent his career as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry and lived in the Detroit area, until settling in Seattle in 2008. Paul was an avid golfer and fisherman.

 

 

Dear uncle of Jean (Tony), Jay (Margaret) and Janet (David), and a grandniece and grandnephew. Loving brother of Rowland (May), Oscar, Lloyd (Tomoko), Max (Yasuko), Chester (Marilynn), and James Joichi.
