Lawrence “Larry” John Pawlitschek of Redmond, WA passed away peacefully on Dec 22, 2016 at Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, WA after a battle with cancer.  He was 75.

Larry was born Nov 4, 1941 to John “Jack” and Florence (Renczykowski) Pawlitschek on a farm south of Storden, MN.  He grew up with two older sisters and a younger brother.  Throughout his youth, Larry enjoyed a variety of sports and outdoor activities, especially fishing.  He graduated from Jeffers High School in 1959.

After high school, Larry enlisted in the Navy and served on the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid.  He was honorably discharged in 1963. Upon returning to Minnesota, Larry completed his technical education and became certified as an electrician.  He was employed for 37 years with Simplex until his retirement in 2003.  Larry was also a lifetime member of the Bismarck-Mandan Elks Lodge #1199.

Larry married Raynette Pepple of Steele, ND on January 7, 1967.  They were blessed with two sons.  Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, always wanting the best for the people around him.  He was also a good athlete, outdoorsman, and a great fisherman, spending hours fishing with his sons.  He loved being a grandfather and continued the family tradition of teaching his grandson to fish.  After his retirement, Larry enjoyed spending winters with Raynette in Mesa, AZ, where they enjoyed visiting and playing cards with many friends.  He always had a smile on his face and in his heart.

Larry is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Raynette, of Redmond, WA, son Garrett (Susan) Pawlitschek and their children Lauren, Brian, and Megan of Pullman, WA, son Terry (Maya) Pawlitschek and grandson Cole of Seattle, WA, sister Lorraine (Ray) Anderson of Windom, MN, sister Geraldine “Gerry” (Paul) Maras of Windom, MN, brother Gary Pawlitschek of Winnebago, MN, and many nieces and nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Florence Pawlitschek.
