John (Jack) Winans

grandpa-4John (Jack) Winans, of Renton, Washington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on October 1, 2016.
Jack was born August 19, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Harry and Celia Winans.  The family moved several times before settling in Brewster, Washington where Jack worked for the family-owned newspaper.
Jack met his future wife Barbara Klinker while they both attended Brewster High School, and later married in Seattle.
Jack served in the United States Army from August 1949 through December 1951.
He continued his career as a journeyman Printing Press operator in the Seattle area and retired in 1994.
Jack enjoyed fishing, camping, sports, spending time with his large family, and was an avid reader of untitled1military history.  He had a quick wit and was always ready with a joke.  He was caring and loving and kind to all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbara, and his daughter, Jackie Kinsley (husband Rick), son Michael, daughter Linda Magee (husband Jerry), daughter Kerri Winans, sister Norma Berry (husband Vern), eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Celia and his brothers, Don and Bob.  He will be greatly missed.

    Barb and family : My heart goes out to each of you ! Jack was a wonderful person and loved by many !     Thank you for being a good and protective father. You provided for us kids well. We have great memories of family vacations, camping trips, and other fun stuff.
