Alfred James “ Jim” Robertson

Major League Baseball catcher Alfred James “ Jim” Robertson was born January 29, 1928 and passed on October 21, 2015, at 87 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Robertson, and two daughters, Leslie Sloan and Sloan Jordan. Also surviving are Jim’s brother and sister in law, “Corky” and Dee Robertson of Peoria, Illinois, 3 grandchildren and nieces and nephews throughout the country. The son of Alfred James Robertson, he graduated from Bradley University. Jim played MLB throughout his twenties and has four collectors’ cards. In addition to his love of many sports, Jim particularly enjoyed golf and his horses.

A private service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank everyone at Evergreen Hospice for providing such compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Evergreen Hospice Center of Kirkland, Washington.

    Jim was a customer of ours and I really enjoyed talking baseball with him! He was a very nice man! Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim’s family.

    Jim and I played winter ball together in Mexico City in 1954. He was a real competitor. We became friends. He came and stayed at our house in Edinburg Texax.
    My sympathy, condolences go out to the family.
