Thomas Robert Clift

Dad_toronto_caption4_edited-2Thomas Robert Clift passed away on April 25, 2015. He was born on June 11, 1920 in Sarnia, OT. Thomas fought with the Canadian Air Force in England during World War 2, operating radar defenses along the English Channel.  After the war he returned to Canada and later graduated from the University of Toronto with a Chemical Engineering degree.

 
After a career with Exxon (known as Esso) working in Peru, Aruba, and New York City, Tom had a second career with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. At this time Tom became a US citizen.

 
Thomas was married to Marie Lenor, who passed away in 2000.

 
Thomas leaves behind two sons, Thomas Jr. and Peter, as well as two grandchildren Victor and John. Tom Jr. married Katie Clift, and Peter married Alla Clift.

 
He was a kind and nurturing man who always put his family first. His humor and wisdom will be sorely missed.

    I had a chance to meet and talk with Tom just a couple of times. I came away, each time, thinking what a nice, gentle, intelligent man he was. And great dresser! I know the family is going to miss him tremendously. My sincere condolences to the Clift family.
