John G. Omundson

1928-2014

OmundsonJohn G. Omundson passed peacefully to God on Friday December 26th, 2014 at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Fenich) for 56 years, loving father to Ana Flynn (Peter), John P. Omundson, Marishka Marten (Judd), and Timothy (Allison) Omundson and proud grandfather to Peter J. Flynn, Jack T. Flynn, Lily K. Omundson and Nora G.Omundson.

John was born October 1, 1928 in Sac City, Iowa to Ova S. and Lauretta Omundson (Maloney). At the age of 14 he learned Morris Code and eventually landed a job with the Rock Island Railroad. He travelled extensively through the Midwest and West as a salesman for many railroads. John served in the US Army during the Korean War attaining rank of sergeant after which he attended Golden Gate College an obtained a degree in traffic management.

On January 3, 1959 he married Lois Ann Fenich in Cle Elum, Washington and lived in Spokane, Washington until they moved their family to St. Joseph, Missouri where he started his own freight management company. The family moved back to Washington settling in Bellevue in 1970.

John has been an active member of St. Louise Roman Catholic Church since 1970 and a Knight of Columbus since he was 18 years old. He was a 4th degree Knight and past Grand Knight. John enjoyed singing and music, fishing, motor sports and watching wrestling.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St Louise Roman Catholic Church 141 156th Ave .S.E. Bellevue, Washington 98007 on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:30 PM.

    I will pray everyday, and I will have many of my best friends to pray to. I am hoping that Jesus will help and do his part of this prayer. May God be with you both Mr. and Mrs. Omundson, my name is Laura Elizabeth used watch Psych along time ago and I watched your son grow up spiritually. I will pray everyday. Be blessed.
