Ronald (Ron) Lee Olson

 

RonRon Olson passed away peacefully on September 9, 2014 surrounded by family. Born to Peggy and Charlie Olson in Gadsden, AL on June 30, 1944, Ron graduated from David Douglas High School in Portland, OR. He and his family moved to Seattle in 1971 where everyone believed he was from Ballard.

Ron was loved dearly by friends and family who enjoyed spending time together. He had a quick smile and loved to laugh and make others laugh. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, eastern Washington and Oregon with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, skiing and outdoors. When his boys were in their youth, he was devoted to their many sports, volunteering to help with basketball, football and baseball fundraisers and always attending their games. He loved watching Huskies football as a longtime season ticketholder.

As an entrepreneur, he developed business relationships that became life-long friendships. He was passionate about the food and beverage industry, a love which he passed on to his sons Brad and Randy.

He is survived by his best friend of 50 years, Val Olson of Kenmore; son Brad Olson of Kent; son Randall Olson and his wife Tammi, and three grandchildren Julia, Reis and Rileigh of Mill Creek; sister Karen Sempert and her husband Tom Chase and niece Julie Farrell and her husband Sean Farrell; and brother Bob Olson and his wife Sheri, and their daughters Sammi and Kellie Olson.

The family greatly appreciates the care he received at Evergreen Health.

A private celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 21 at the home of Val Olson.
