Predrag Lakic
Predrag Lakic tragically lost his life at the age of 58 in a traffic accident while riding his bicycle in Pooler, Savannah, GA on Saturday, September 6th 2014.
Predrag’s family lives in Kirkland, WA. For the past year and a half, he was working as a design engineer at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia.
Predrag was born on September 7th, 1955 in Trebinje, former Yugoslavia as the first child to Mevlida and Uros Lakic. Predrag and his sister Dragana were raised in a loving home. Predrag graduated from the Aerospace Department of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade. His passion for airplane design determined the course of his life. During his senior year and after graduation he instructed many students in their studies of design concepts of flight vehicles. He was a talented musician ranging from guitar, drums and piano. His voice was clear and strong. He shared his passion for music, bicycles and journalism with his family and friends.
1992 was a cornerstone year in Predrag’s life when he married Ivanka in Belgrade, Serbia. They decided to explore the world and continue his aeronautical career in North America. In 1994 their first son Nikola, was born in Toronto, Canada. Four years later in 1998 their second son Marko was born.
In Canada, Predrag started working at Bombardier Aerospace in Toronto. In a short time he became a lead design engineer on a major airplane program. That was the stepping stone in his successful aeronautical career. In the course of the past 22 years, Predrag was a member of design engineering teams of major aircraft manufacturing companies like:
- Israel Aircraft Industry in Tel Aviv
- Embraer in Palm Beach, Florida
- Dornier in Munich, Germany
- Boeing in Seattle, Washington
- Gulfstream in Savannah, Georgia
Left behind in sadness and sorrow are his wife Ivanka, sons Nikola and Marko, father Uros, mother Mevlida, sister Dragana, nephew Igor, brother-in-law Miroslav, his in-laws Radovan, Dobrila and Slobodan Trifunovic, numerous cousins and friends all over the world.
He was known as a lively, loving and caring person, not only his family but also all his friends. He was a devoted father, husband, friend and colleague. Predrag was a role model to many and teacher to all.

Najiskrenije saucesce porodici Lakic u ovom teskom i tuznom vremenu. Dovoljno je bilo sresti ga svega par puta, da bi se videlo da je Predrag divan covek. Neka mu je laka zemlja.

Kako je zivot gorak. Moja pokojna majka I Predragov otac su potomci iste loza Boskovica sa Orje Luke. Nisam znala da smo rodjaci do danas, kad sam ovo videla I cula se sa rodbinom u Crnoj Gori. Neka ti je laka crna zemlja, brate moj, i vecno secanje. Sto te nisam upoznala.
