I’m one of the many grandchildren, Paige. My grandpa Bob was the best grandpa a person could have. He may be gone but he is in my heart. He will never be forgotten, I will never forget the special times Grandpa and I had together . The time we went camping, family reunions, and all the Christmas eve’s and Christmas’s we have had together. Can’t forget the birthdays either. Grandpa you are dearly missed, but we all love you! You are in a better place now. No pain, I’m happy for you now that you are all better. I will always LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! The rest of the family LOVES AND MISSES YOU TOO! You are in our hearts love you,

I am Bob’s “sister”. Bob “Duke” will always be in my heart. He was a wonderful brother to me for 14 years, after I married his brother Bill. I always had a wonderful time at Bob and LeeAnn’s when I visited their home. He will be missed very much. I am glad he is at peace now without pain.
I love and miss you, Duke

I am Bob’s youngest daughter Pamela. I can’t believe he is gone. I am still in shock! I couldn’t have asked for a better father. Dad was the most caring and loving man I knew. He always put a smile on my face, even when things were tough. I will never forget the memories I had with my father. There were just so many of them. I think the hardest time for me will be Christmas Eve. He always made Christmas Eve so special. He was a very creative individual. My best memories come from my childhood as he would build us anything and everything we had from a pool to play houses, sleds, wooden boats to race through the streams with my siblings, guitars, etc. I will miss my father daily, but I know traditions he had will carry on. He will NEVER be forgotten.

I love and miss you more than words can say Dad. There won’t be a day that goes by that you won’t be on my mind. I’m happy knowing you are comfortable now.
    Love
    Pammy

Bob was a very special person in my life and I was very lucky to become his wife. Bob had many talents that he shared from time to time. I would like to share an email that he sent to me at work on my birthday. October 27, 2011 7:53am SUBJECT: Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday–To You–Happy Birthday to you–Happy Birthday to my sweetie-Happy Birthday to you. Oh yes I remember the year you were born I was soon to be four years old playing on my bedroom floor with my trucks on that cold October day. Not having anyone to play with me, and unaware that my future playmate was on her way on that very day. Well back then little did I know how much fun playtime could be–well much more fun then playing with trucks that’s for sure. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE YOU

  • Heather says:

    Daddy,
I want to thank you for being such an amazing dad. I couldn’t ask for anyone better. You taught me how to live life on my terms, which I always admired you for. I am the hard working dedicated person I am because of you. You taught me how to love, how to forgive and how to move on when life doesn’t necessarily go your way. You were a loving grandpa to my girls and they have so many happy loving memories with you that they will hold deep in their hearts. I know Rick loves and respects you for raising a daughter he could love.

Daddy I will forever love you and keep you and my wonderful memories close to my heart. I will keep you alive in all the happy stories I have to tell. We lost you way to soon but knowing you are in a better place where you will never hurt again and can watch over us all brings me a little bit of peace.

I will love you forever and you will always be my sunshine.

Bob Denton was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor and high family values. I knew that he loved my sister, Leeann, because you could see it in everything he did. I truly believe that Bob was the best thing, bar none, that ever happened to Leeann. Their time together, as man and wife, was short but their love was strong.
Now, I am overwhelmed with the love and respect that all of his kids have shown her in this time of need, and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for their love and support. Thanks guys you rock, your Dad would be proud of all of you!
Remember to focus on the good times and hold on to those memories because Bob lives in us all.

  • Jamie Mc Dougall says:

    I am Bobs stepdaughter Jamie,
When I was told I could write something about Bob I was overwhelmed with trying to pick something I could share about Bob. When I think about Bob I think of all the love, caring and happiness, he gave my mom Leeann. Bob gave my mom more then I could want or wish for her to have, he was a prince to her.
Bob loved my mom and treated her like she was his world, making her fresh coffee, rubbing her shoulders or even cuddling with her on the couch holding her hand. Sometimes just working on a project with her, they always had something to do together. Bob was the perfect husband for my mom and a great stepfather and grandfather for me, my husband and my children, Makayla, Seth, and Natelly.
I have so many great memories with Bob, he visited us in NV and rode bikes with the kids and helped them build a club house. Bob would sit on the floor and color with Natelly using their toes instead of hands. When the new hard wood floors went in their house he would run and slide across the floor in his socks, and was always playing and rough housing with the kids.
Bob was one of the most accepting, loving, caring people I know, I regret not telling him how much he meant to my family.
I know wanting Bob here, to be with my mother and I is selfish. I know he no longer hurt and I am grateful for that, so all I can say now is you are very loved and you will be missed dearly
    love,
    Jamie

Duke & I flew to Reno one weekend in the 80’s. What a blast we had! Rented a car to camp in. He slept in the front seat, I was in the back seat and he was a perfect gentleman! He was very special to me, I have always cherished our times together. I know this good man is in a better place now.

  • Jeff Denton says:

When I opened this page and saw his pictures it took me right back to any previous time I may have seen him. And even though I hadn’t seen much of my cousin Bob in recent years, when I did his inviting smile and friendly nature was always there and welcoming. My mom, Margie always kept me up to date on Bob and his family and I always felt he had everything he deserved. Bob, you’ll be missed by more people than you realize.

  • Jenell Steltz says:

Daddy I will miss you everyday! Thank you for all your love!

  • Anna Bechtel says:

Bob was such a wonderful man. His life was all about family and he enjoyed all those who were part of that circle. He loved his children and was so proud of all of them and what fine people they grew up to be. And, he loved his grandchildren!! All of us were so happy for him when Leeann came into his life. He had such joy in his life and gave much back in return. One of our mutual clients said that the world lost a gentle soul when Bob left us; how true that is. I am glad he is no longer suffering but I will truly miss him and wish we could have had him with us awhile longer.

  • Janaya LeeJohnson says:

I remember when Bob, me, and my dad were outside on the deck and it was almost bed time, the mosquitoes where bothering me and I asked Bob” Have you ever eaten a bug before?” Bob said “Yes, I’ve eaten a lot of bugs, in fact… look.” He suddenly ate a mosquito. I said “GROSS”. My dad didn’t say anything. Bob said “yummy.” Then me and my dad saw a fly-fly into Bob’s mouth, he chewed it up and swallowed it. I said, once again…”GROSS.” Then my dad asked me, “Did you see that?” I said “Yes I did, did you?” Dad said “Yes I did.” After that we all went inside to go to bed.

  • Chris/Piper says:

We knew Leeann had met someone who was special to her when our little family came to Washington for our annual visit one summer. We were staying with Leeann and as soon as we arrived we noticed how happy she seemed to be. We didn’t think much of it at first, until evening time came. Leeann told us she was heading to bed. We thought it was a bit early for bed time but didn’t think too much of it that first night. The second day we started noticing her watching the clock as the evening wore on, and the later it got the more she seemed to smile. By then we knew she was up to something so we kept an eye on her. At the same time as the night before she told us she was heading to bed, smiling. That night we could hear she was on the phone with her mysterious happy causing, smile creating, person. Of course we suspected it was a guy, and he must have been a wonderful one. Eventually she fessed up and told us about Bob. Over the years we’ve gotten to know him and his family. Everyone has always been so inviting, happy, loving, supportive, and just so wonderful. This family is so close. It’s the kind of loving family everyone dreams of growing up with. His loss is felt deeply, and will be felt for a long time.

  • Kolby LeeJohnson says:

Me, my little sister, Grandma, and Bob had walked up the hill from Bob’s house to pick raspberries. After we picked berries we were walking through a narrow path through the trees when suddenly a ‘BEAR’ jumped out of the woods growling and snarling at us. Everyone screamed! Bob jumped and ran behind my sister so the ‘BEAR’ wouldn’t get him. It took a few moments for everyone to realize the ‘BEAR’ was my dad. But the next year that narrow path was at least 10 feet wide so no ‘BEARS’ could hide in it.
