Pamela Joan Dolan
4/4/34 – 2/9/14
The fourth child of Alfred and Alice Haas, Pamela grew up in St. Paul Minnesota with her siblings Patricia, Allan, Priscilla, and Penelope.
Pam was a lively, outgoing young lady involved in ice skating, cheerleading and various social clubs. Music became her passion and for good reason as she was an incredibly talented vocalist.
After high school Pam was accepted into the University of Washington on a music scholarship. In a wonderful twist of fate she met the love of her life Bob Dolan. He was in the drama department and her, being in the music department, ended up in a production together that began the most amazing and truest of all love stories. Pam and Bob brought up their family of six children Robin, Dan, Scott, Colleen, Tricia and Chris in a household filled with love, laughter and music. Pam and Bob relocated following his military career but finally settled their family in Bothell Washington. The children were enrolled in St. Brendan’s Catholic school and both Pam and Bob became very involved in that community.
Pam was a professional vocalist and performed in many productions including a lead role in the Mikado and was also a member of the Seattle Light Opera Company.
Pam went on to teach many wonderful students the art of singing and also piano playing. Sharing music and its language was a huge source of joy for her. Those of us who were blessed by her in our lives know that her biggest gift was the love she extended to her cherished friends and family. Pam’s sweet, gentle spirit touched so many lives and though she will be dearly missed we can all rest assured that heaven has received a most beautiful angel to join the choir.
“Music speaks what cannot be expressed,
soothes the mind and gives it rest,
heals the heart and makes it whole,
flows from heaven to the soul”

Dear Robin, I have no way of knowing if this e-mail will get to you now nearly two years later, but I hope that it does. I am now the pastor of the Proto-Cathedral of St. James the Greater in Vancouver, Washington. Your Mom and Dad have been in my prayers often. I miss you and I pray that Providence will enable us to meet again. Much love, Harry.
p.s. my warm regards to Sophie and your children.
I remember Pam so fondly. I lived only a couple of blocks away from their Bothell home and would walk over to have my piano lessons with Pam. Our family didn’t have a lot of money, but my cousin Sherry had gone to Pam for piano lessons and so we joined as well. I think it was a year into my lessons I heard someone else comment about payment and I realized that while her rates had gone up for other students she had kept the same rate for my family because she knew it was a stretch for our family. I remember her giving me Christmas gifts, I still have a book she gave me. Even after I quit piano I remember her showing up for my high school graduation party. She was such a beautiful, kind and generous person. I was so sorry to hear of her passing, but want your family to know what a lasting impression she made on me. My love to the whole family.
