Daniel Lucian Higgins

 

foto2Dan was born in Yakima WA . August 12 1940, and passed away on March 17 2013.

He  attended school in Yakima, Kent , and graduated from Oak harbor High.

Daniel was a feisty, talented man who married young and had four children. He had many skills:  a gifted finish carpenter, made fiberglass and carbon fiber molds and parts, was first for Heath Tech in the Kent valley,  and then for Boeing. He had many hobbies: race carphotography, gardening, a car guy with a passion for drag racing. With his older brother David, he partnered up with Jerry Ruth in the early 60’s and went on to drive Top Fuel Dragsters at the local events, having his day in the sun driving first the famed Green Dragon car out of Seattle and then the Pegasus car for David and himself. Danial had zest for life that is gone too soon.foto4

He is survived by his older brother David, three children: Gina Schwab, Gene Higgins, Rene Higgins, 4 grand children, and 7 great grand children.  A Celebration of Daniels Life will be held in the early spring when the drag racing season is in full swing.

    In loving memory of Daniel Higgins. He always made beautiful pots of flowers for the downtown businesses and constantly tried to make people smile. He would come in everyday and tell me I was beautiful Daniel I wish you all the peace and happiness you deserve and I know you’re gardening in heaven and flirting with all the angels. ♥ you are missed ♥

    Please let me know when the celebration will be held. I wouldn’t miss it!!!
