Ray Ritualo

Ray Ritualo

Ray Ritualo passed away on June 30, 2012 after a brief struggle with cancer.

He was surrounded by his loving family and we miss him very, very much.

Ray was born in Seattle on July 13, 1947 and grew up in Renton, graduating from Renton High School in 1965.   He enlisted in the Air Force soon after graduating and served during the Vietnam conflict.  After leaving the Air Force, he returned to Renton where he met his devoted life partner, Kathy.  He worked in greater Seattle area for several years until he suffered an injury that left him unable to work.  Though it made his life more challenging, he continued to be a humble, loving and caring man.

Ray was the oldest boy of a family of six.  He was a true big brother to his younger siblings, encouraging them to stay out of trouble and teaching them how to keep their parents happy.  He always enjoyed a good laugh, and loved to watch sporting events.   His favorite way to spend his time was going to Emerald Downs to take his chances on the races.   He became very good at picking the winners.  Ray also made it part of his daily routine to take a walk, even when it became more and more difficult.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufino and Shirley.  He leaves behind his loving partner Kathy Nehl, his Sisters Rufina Angehrn (Fred) Kent, Regina Maldonaldo (Phillip) Norco, CA, Ronda Watson (Jim) Renton and his Brothers Russell (Joan), Randy (Linda) both Renton.  He also will be greatly missed by his Nieces and Nephews Trina Angehrn, Rick Angehrn, Jeff Angehrn, Heather Wright, Amy Holma, Rushell Ritualo, Randa Watson, Jared Watson, and Jackie Watson as well as Kathy’s siblings Bill Nehl and Kim Nehl.

A memorial service for Ray is planned at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM.

Rest in peace, our humble hero.  We are grateful that you no longer suffer with the pain but our loving hearts are heavy with sorrow that we will never hear you laugh again.
