Kirby G. Samuelson

Kirby G. Samuelson, 60, of Bellevue, WA, originally of Maynard, IA, died recently at home of natural causes.

He was born April 12, 1951, in Cedar Falls, IA, to Tom and Arlene Samuelson. Mr. Samuelson graduated from West Central High School, Maynard and later from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. In 1971 he married Cynthia Bartels; they later divorced. He became a registered CPA in 1973.

He was employed as senior auditor, controller, accounting manager and senior accountant with a number of firms in Chicago, IL; and Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento, CA. He married Georgia Lingua in 1980, divorcing in 1990. He lived and worked most recently in the Seattle, WA area.

Kirby Samuelson delighted in travel, interesting conversations with friends, and hiking through the woods. Some of his favorite pastimes included reading, movies, Hawkeye football, music, sci-fi, and history.

Mr. Samuelson is survived by his mother Arlene Samuelson, Cedar Falls, IA; his sister Nancy (Darrell) Libke, Sumner, IA; and his niece Adrianne (Ryan) Kuchta, Appleton, WI, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private committal service will be held in Maynard, IA, in accordance with Kirby’s wishes.

    I knew Kirby when he was a chiropractic patient at a practice I worked for in Sacramento several years ago. Kirby was very kind, quick witted man & a true pleasure to know! My sincere sympathy goes out to his family and friends as I know he will be missed.
