Gertrude (Walker) Gorrell


Gertrude (Walker) Gorrell was born August 17th, 1913 in Spokane, Washington.  Gertie passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side.  Gertie was 98 when she went home to be with her Savior on October 26th, 2011.

Gertrude grew up in the Seattle Green Lake area with her father and mother along with three brothers, George, Clifford and Ervin Walker.  Gertrude was married to Lawrence W. Gorrell for 32 years until Larry passed in 1977.

Gertie spent most of her life lovingly caring for her family and home.  In her younger years, she loved to be in the yard and garden.  Gertie had a big heart and enjoyed her family and friends.

Gertrude is survived by her daughter Mary Ward, son Thomas Gorrell and grandchildren Wendy (Jakoski) Taylor, John Jakoski and Corey & Keith Gorrell.  Great granchildren Lukas & Melia Taylor, Adrienne Hutchinson, Aiyana Jokoski and Anngee & Thomas Gorrell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 at 2:00 pm at:

    It was with sadness I heard of Grandma Gertie passing. My sympathy for all of you, Mary, Tom, Family is without bounds. She touched my life and our family in such a way that I shall forever be grateful. She was a dear and wonderful soul and may she rest in eternal peace and bring comfort to all of you in the days without her.
