A. Jacqueline Berman

Jackie died peacefully May 12th, 2011 at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA …. but let us remember how she lived.  She had a wonderful and happy life and will forever live in our hearts!  She was born in 1933 to Alice and Jacob Wyss in Beaverton, OR.  She grew up a farm girl.  She met a city boy from New York while he was attending a university nearby.  She married Stan, the love of her life, in 1955.  They had three daughters and eventually settled in Bellevue in the mid 1960’s where Stan was an Optometrist. Jackie was very loved by her husband Stan, was the cherished mother of Janice, Laura and Linda, and was adored by her grandchildren, Jeff and Jennie.  Dearly loved by the son-in-laws, cousins, and entire family as well as countless fabulous friends.  To Jackie family were friends and friends were family. Jackie lived with a positive attitude and was a great sport through all of life’s adventures and challenges.  She was a dynamo, raising 3 girls and handling all the bookwork for the business and all their other endeavors.  Every Friday she had everything packed and prepared for a weekend of family fun either skiing, boating, or camping.  Jackie and Stan lived to travel and they did!  Traveling the world they took amazing trips.  She rode a camel in Turkey, an elephant in India, a hot air balloon in Tanzania and floated the Amazon River laughing all the way. On their 25th Anniversary she and Stan went around the world on a 60 day adventure.  Jackie and Stan had 55 beautiful years together.  Jackie will be buried at Union Cemetery in Cedar Mills, Oregon on Sat. May 21st at 11 am.  She will rest there with several generations of her family. Everyone who loved her are welcome to attend a celebration of her life on Sunday, May 29th at the Clise Mansion in Marymoor Park, 6046 W Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE, Redmond, WA 98052. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.

What a beautiful life Jackie lived and what a beautiful example she is to all of us! I was blessed to know her through her amazing daughter Laura who I can see has taken on many of Jackie’s beautiful attributes. I was always amazed at her courage, strength, faith and humor through all that her physical body went through. I’m very sad for your loss, but I think Jackie would want each of you to remember her and her zeal for life and find happiness in the wonderful memories you have with her and make more in her honor in the days to come. I believe she is in Heaven having a wonderful time in a fully healed body walking the streets of gold and looking forward to the day when you will all be together again for Eternity. God Bless your beautiful family!

Thinking of you all and your families at this difficult time. I will always cherish those childhood memories and the many hours I was blessed to spend at your home.
