Laura (Durand) Rousseau

1955 – 2010

North Grosvenordale, CT – Laura A.  Rousseau, 55 of Redmond, WA died peacefully Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at home.  She was the loving wife of Patrick Rousseau.  Born in Putnam, Ct she was the daughter of Lorraine (Coderre) Durand of North Grosvenordale and the late Lionel Durand.

Raised in North Grosvenordale, Laura attended Tourtellotte Memorial High School, Becker College and received her BS degree in economics from Eastern Connecticut State University. 

Mrs. Rousseau took pride in caring for her family.  Through her life’s journey, she was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in N. Grosvenordale, CT; St. Patrick’s Church in Mystic, CT; St. Mary’s Church in Canandaigua, NY; and St. Thomas Becket Church in Cheshire, CT.

In addition to her husband and mother, Laura is survived by her daughter, Diana Rice of Cromwell, CT; her son, Alan Rousseau of Athens, OH; her brother Roger Durand of N. Grosvenordale: her sister, Linda Dry of  Burlington, NJ and her beloved grandson, Patrick Rice.

Relatives and friends are invited to Laura’s Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 2, 2010 in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., North Grosvenordale, CT.  The church will be open at 9:30 to allow time for reflection & visitation, the Mass will begin at 10:30, and Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.  For guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com
