Eldon Nick Coroch – September 21, 2008

Eldon Nick Coroch, longtime Everett Community College journalism instructor, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2008 at age 77 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 7, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Nicholas and Alice Coroch.  He graduated from Central High School in 1949, and earned his BA in journalism and Masters in communication from the University of Washington. Eldon was the first member of his family to attend and graduate from college.  His master thesis from the U. of W. in l966 was entitled “Colonel Alden J. Blethen and The Seattle Daily Times.
 
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Doris, of Everett; his daughter, Laura (Jeff) Irwin of Monroe; a son, John (Denise) Coroch of Camano Island; four grandchildren; Alisa (David) Ortega of San Diego, David Irwin, Deborah Irwin, and Cassidy Coroch; a brother, Kenneth, of Ensenada, Mexico; a step-brother Alan (Glenna) Anderson of Owasso, OK; brother-in-law Don LaMoure of Seattle; sister-in-law Mae (James Paul) Huggins of Marion, SC and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at Unity Church in Lynnwood, Friday, October 3, 2008 at 2:00PM, reception following at the church.  Remembrances may be given in his name to Unity Church in Lynnwood, 16727 Alderwood Mall Parkway, Lynnwood, WA 98037 or Unity Center of Positive Living in Everett, 3231 Colby Ave. Everett, WA 98021.
