Important Announcement Regarding Deaths in King County
Families and their Funeral Service Providers, including Barton Family Funeral Service, are experiencing significantly delays in obtaining death certificates from King County while King County implements an electronic system called EDRS. (You may read about it HERE)
We have been using the EDRS system for several years for deaths occurring in other counties such as Snohomish County. We know the system well and are trying to help physicians and hospitals as they make the transition. Because King is such a large county, the transition is taking longer than we have experienced in the past, and unfortunately we are all experiencing considerable delays in obtaining death certificates.
County and State officials are very cooperative and are working diligently to facilitate the change. We ask for your patience and assure you that we are doing everything possible to meet your expectations.
Jane’s memorial service will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Bellevue, Wa. on Sunday July 20 at 2:00PM. Details will be included in the Seattle Times and PI on Wed, Thurs and Friday of this week. If you would like more info, etc. please call me at 425-868-7617. Thank you.
Earl
Dear Earl and Members of Jane’s Family: I remember Jane with great fondness. She was a crack aassistant to the Seattle School District attorney when I knew her as a colleague during the 80’s and early 90’s. She was the most efficient and effective paralegal I have ever known. Her investigative skills were second to none, and in my role as ombudsman for the district, we often worked together on a particular case. I appreciated her skills, but even more than that I appreciated her friendship. She was a valued friend. I remember specifically her thoughtfulness in going to lunch with me one day after I had had a particularly trying time in the district. She gave me such encouragement and advice that I had no trouble solving the problem I was having. Jane had a remarkable way of dispensing common sense into the reality of any situation, no matter how difficult it might have seemed. She was always very busy and very professional, but yet had time to smile, to speak some words of kindness and care, and to help iron out a tough situation. I’m sure she will be missed greatly.
