Important Announcement Regarding Deaths in King County
Families and their Funeral Service Providers, including Barton Family Funeral Service, are experiencing significantly delays in obtaining death certificates from King County while King County implements an electronic system called EDRS. (You may read about it HERE)
We have been using the EDRS system for several years for deaths occurring in other counties such as Snohomish County. We know the system well and are trying to help physicians and hospitals as they make the transition. Because King is such a large county, the transition is taking longer than we have experienced in the past, and unfortunately we are all experiencing considerable delays in obtaining death certificates.
County and State officials are very cooperative and are working diligently to facilitate the change. We ask for your patience and assure you that we are doing everything possible to meet your expectations.
What an amazing woman! I am so proud to be the granddaughter of such a loving, caring woman. Throughout the years grandma has been so wonderful and such a great role model to all of us. I will never forget the gold coins in my stocking at Christmas. I will forever miss my grandma but I know she is in Heaven with grandpa now looking down on all of us, loving us, supporting us and protecting us. I am so grateful for all the time I spent with her throughout the years; especially at the end! I love you grandma!
I have to say this new years day of 2022 reminds me of the positive fresh spirit and hope for the future my Grams (Lucille Owyen) had for life and especially hope and love for her family. I miss my Grandma Lou so much. She was the light in my life as a child and took care of me so lovingly, and I am so grateful that I was able to be raised by her. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide to be there for me and she was such an amazing soul with a kind and strong spirit. She always encouraged hard work, pursuing knowledge, and recognizing the good in the world and giving out good in return. Some of her best lessons were given in stories of her own life and she was incredibly unique and caring. Someone willing to give up her time and money and spread joy with it, opening up her home when people needed a safe place to stay and encouraging holiday celebrations, traditions, loving family no matter what and most importantly, gratitude. She was an idol and an impressive woman and am so fortunate to be able to pass down the positive things I have received from her over the years we shared together to my children. Thank you Grams, sending out Love!!!
