“Religion is the human response to being alive and having to die.”

F. Forrester Church

Religion has been responsible for some of humanity’s greatest triumphs as well a source of strife and dissension. The religious strife in Israel and Northern Ireland makes it almost impossible to have a functional society. The attack on the U.S. by Islamic terrorists was based on intolerant
religious notions. There have always been people eager to brand non-believers as “evil” and seek their conversion, marginalization, or outright destruction.

Yet Moses, Jesus, or Buddha never preached hatred against anyone. To the contrary, all taught the value of loving one another and encouraged the faithful to care for each other, especially in time of great need. Death is one such time when denominational strife is temporarily set aside and religion brings people together and helps to heal the wounds. At a funeral, the non-believer shows respect for the deeply held convictions of the believer and may even become immersed in the comforting feeling that there might be something after death.

Religion is more than just a belief in a deity; it is philosophy and a way of life that can define who you are and how you interact with other people . There are as many different types
of religion as there are different types of people. Nevertheless, time has proven the value of the funeral service to bring all people together and to give comfort to the bereaved that is difficult to achieve through other means.

Barton Family Funeral Service encourages and supports traditional funerals by eliminating the barriers people face when they have to make numerous decisions at a difficult
time. We quickly coordinate the efforts of clergy and family members, and provide uncomplicated and low cost funeral options.

We invite local religious leaders to contact us to create pages specifically designed to help your congregation. This can include designing funeral packages that offer substantial savings while preserving the solemn nature of religious observation.
