Andres Angeles Hong
Andres Angeles Hong, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 27th, 2012 in his home in Kirkland, Washington. He was 79 years old.
Andres “Andy” grew up in Manila, Philippines. He met Concepcion “Conching” Balmes when his sister hired her as a sales lady in one of her shoe stores. He quickly fell in love with her and married her. They have seven children: Leonida, Edgardo, Begildes, Ronaldo, Ofelia, Gemmalyn and Virgilio. In 2005, Andy and his wife celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary by renewing their vows, in the Philippines.
Andy and his wife moved to Seattle, Washington in the 1990’s. They joined their eldest daughter, Leonida, with her husband. When Andy’s first granddaughter, Leah, was born, Andy instilled much love and affection to his grandchildren. He spent time with them, watching Kung Fu movies, playing board games and going out to eat. He loved his grand children dearly.
During his life, Andy enjoyed sharing stories with family and friends, going to the horse race track, listening to music, playing maj jong and watching Kung Fu movies on TV. He leaves behind his wife, 7 children, and 14 grandchildren. Andy impacted many lives and his memory will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
