Mimi Royston
Mimi Royston, born Mary Rita Royston, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013 in Kenmore, Washington surrounded by her loving family. Born November 29, 1946 in Bridgeport CT, Mimi moved to Seattle in 1973. Beloved mother of Owen Sweeney Jr., Megan Stephens (Kevin), Katie Sweeney, Sheila Sweeney (Sinclair Yuen); loving grandmother of Abigail Sweeney, Jonah Carman, Aidan Yuen, McKenna Stephens, Bridget Yuen, Michael Stephens; sister of Peter, David, Ellen Stimpson, Chris and Elizabeth “Maxie” Royston. Mimi also leaves behind her friend and former husband, Owen Sweeney. Mimi was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Royston.
Mimi’s family would like to thank her good friend, Raleigh Watts, for his support, guidance and care for both Mimi and her family over the past 7 years and the compassionate people at Cascade Home Care for caring for Mimi in her last years with us.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. Therese Parish of Seattle at www.SaintThereseParish.org or Country Doctor at www.CountryDoctor.org. A funeral mass will be held at St. Therese’s Church in Seattle, WA on Saturday, February 8th at 10 am. A reception will follow.

She was a beautiful lady and will be missed by all who knew her.

My sincerest condolences to Mimi’s family!
Mimi will be remembered in a Mass at Notre Dame HS in Fairfield CT on March 6th at 5:00 pm. Many of her HS classmates will be there to remember a wonderful lady!
She will also be remembered in a mass at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit on Sacred Heart University’s campus on June 22nd as part of our class 50th reunion weekend.
Mimi was a part of a wonderful group of friends as she ventured through her high school years at Notre Dame High School in Fairfield, Connecticut. We will all remember her smile and her warm, friendly spirit! We will pray that her family and friends see the sunshine that she sends us and remember the fun and love that she gave to all.

So tell us , what’s heaven like? We had a wonderful group of friends didn’t we. Remember that beer mug you gave me I think you were clearing out part of your home at the time. But I still have it. And each time I look at it I think of you. Rest in peace Hon God brought another of His finest back home..
