Robert “Bob” Martin
Robert Martin (lovingly known as Bob), passed away October 17, 2013. God brought him and his twin brother Richard into this world on June 22, 1943 in sunny Southern California, where he was raised and eventually married his beautiful wife, Carol.
He will be dearly missed by all, especially his 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren listed below:
Scott (in Los Angeles, CA)
Tiana (in Flower Mound, TX) married to Todd Larson with children Ty, Travis and Taylor
Bryan (in Huntsville, TX) married to Rose with children David, Misty, Kyla and Carissa
Shawna (in Buckley, WA) married to Eric Armstrong with children Forest, Christian and Alex
Dane (in Bothell, WA) married to de-Anna
Derek (in Lynwood, WA) married to Tawnya with child Lexi
Ayden (age 3), Joseph (age 2) and Stevie (3 months)
All of his children were born in CA before moving the family (except Scott and Tiana) to Woodinville, WA in 1986, near where he was laid to rest in Floral Hills Cemetary in Lynnwood. Making their way through life together (overcoming hardship and being grateful of prosperity), Bob and Carol were only 4 months away from their Golden Anniversary. His living siblings are Thom, Richard, Chris, Sue and Cindy.
Bob spent his entire professional career machining metal parts (a lot of which went on airplanes), using precision tools and his keen mathematical mind to either create or supervise others in the process. He was a dedicated employee. His last 26 years were spent at J.D. Ott in Seattle. It’s not an exageration to say that his peers were like family to him. He retired Dec. 31, 2012, only because of his poor health. During earlier days in CA, he normally held a 2nd job at small local machine shops. We even remember early Sunday mornings (his only day to sleep in) when he would drop off massive bundles of newspapers at area newspaper carriers’ homes and then get home before dawn to help his 4 older children deliver the News Chronicle in Newbury Park, CA.
One of Bob’s favorite places to be was around the ocean. He had a love for fishing his entire life, but spent some special times on his brother-in-law’s boat in Puget Sound crabbing and salmon fishing. And although he didn’t get around to it until his children were all grown up, he did love to travel. He and Carol even explored Sweden with Dane and de-Anna. Bob was also an avid card player. It didn’t matter the game, but deal him in! Fond, fond memories for us all.
Humorous, charismatic, and hard-working, he had an everlasting love for his family and will forever and always be in our hearts! As a loving Heavenly Father does, God provided his family and friends with a beautiful soul, through the life of Bob.
Although he had a faulty heart valve and deteriorating lungs, his strength, endurance and love for his family (who were with him daily), carried him to the end. We trust God with his soul, and that He will continue to care for all his loved ones (family and friends) who will miss him deeply.
Oh, Dear Ones!
This is so touching. We are praying for God’s comfort for all of you. Love, Alan and Janet
Dear Cuzn Carol and family,

Bob has left a large void in my boat,no pun intended..His presence will be felt and cherished forever!
So sorry to hear this news. May the peace of God be with all of you. Love, Angela Weston
I loved Bob VERY much and will miss him terribly. He is, was and always will be a GREAT man! xoxoxoxo
I always looked forward to seeing Uncle Bob at Christmas Celebrations at Joyce & Brian’s home. I loved flirting with him. He seemed to like so I kept doing it until this last Christmas when you could see, even that was too much work. Though wasn’t family to me accept my Joyce’s adoption of me. I always felt like I could sit down and talk with Uncle Bob. He will be missed more than any of us realize.
My sincerest hopes for peace and acceptance on Carol and all the children’s part. He left a piece of himself behind in many ways.
Love to all

May good memories help fill the huge void of Bob’s presence and essence. The depth of his laughter when he was really tickled will forever echo in our ears. How he will be missed! Ginny Mae
I will remember Bob as the most kind and patient man I’ve ever known. Years ago I found him sitting alone on a park bench in downtown Leavenworth. “Hello Bob, why are you sitting on a park bench in the middle of Leavenworth?” “Carol is shopping, and I’m just enjoying the sunshine.”
We exchanged some neighborly small talk, and later I went about my business. An hour later, he was still there just watching the world go by.
I always seem to think about that day, and Bob, when I find myself just watching the world go by.
He will be missed.
Carol & Family,
So sorry to hear of your loss; will be thinking of you all. Beautiful write-up.
Bob was a great co worker. He took the time to share with me his many skills and knowledge. He was one of the few “old guys” that was able to adapt to new technology. His retirement left a huge void at the shop. I will never forget him and his quick smile.
Dearest Carol, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. We will be praying for our Heavenly Father’s comfort to you and your family as you grieve.
Carol and Family, I am so sorry for the loss of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. What a wonderful tribute to him! I will continue to keep your family in prayer during this very difficult time.
Dear Carol,

Love to you and your family,
Sarah

I loved seeing this tribute to your husband Bob. I’m very sorry for your loss. I have been praying for you and your whole family. I’m so glad you know Jesus. He will provide all your needs in the days ahead. He is faithful and true!
I’ve known Bob and his twin brother Dick since the mid 1950’s. We met one sunny day soon after they moved in to their house, three doors down from us, on Nobel Ave in Sepulveda, Ca. Since then we have been good friends, playing at the city park in back us, catching lizards snakes & other critters, along with going to Fulton Junior High and James Monroe High School together and establishing a lot of good memories in the process. One important memory, in my mind, is that I had the privilege to be Bob’s best man at his wedding. During those early years, Bob and I went camping, fishing and hunting and just did a lot of guy-things together. During the year of our fiftieth (50th) birthdays (1993) we all got together in Woodinville, Wa. for Bob & Dick’s and later in San Jose, Ca., for my birthday. During both of those events we had a great time together with lots of memories and videos to last forever. These last years were important to me, even with the long distances between us. I was able to touch-base with Bob with hopes for a 70th birthday get together but the good lord wouldn’t accommodate because of Bob’s illnesses. I’m very sorry to have lost Bob so early in our life’s travels and will miss him, because he was a large part of my younger years and experiences. With over 55 years of knowing Bob, it was still too short of time to have really known him. I remember when I would walk over and stand at Bob & Dick’s back steps and ask if they could “come-out and play”, and then had to wait there until they finished washing dishes before they could come outside. I sure miss those good old times. Life was much simpler back then. Bob I will miss you. Tom McC
Wow, it was a shock to get the news of Bobs passing. It has been a long time since our Newbury Park days and our children young and playing together. And Bob so friendly and full of smiles and open for conversation. Your home was always a welcome place to visit. Blessings to all of you at this time…peace be with you. Bob, enjoy your new life in heaven. Wow indeed.
I met Bob in high school in 1960. Adorable. He wasp our best man when I married Jim Kasarjian. Have always had a lot of respect for his love of life
So many long ago fun memories. Carol, Bob loved you so much.
