Timothy Alan Lane

June 16, 1948-October 11, 2013

TimothyLane3Timothy Alan Lane was born June 16, 1948 in San Francisco, CA.  He was the youngest of 5 children, 3 sisters and 1 brother.  His family moved to the Skagit Valley area when he was a young boy, which is where he grew up.  In 1967 Tim joined the army and after his discharge, he settled in Seattle.

In 1971, he met his wife, Sandra Lane and they were married October 21, 1972.  Tim and Sandy moved to Mount Vernon, WA in 1977.  Their son Gerald Alan was born in 1979 and in 1980 they moved to Kirkland, where they have remained.

Tim had various jobs throughout his life time, but his favorite above all else was caring for his family.

Tim was the practical joker of the family.  One could always count on him to “pull something out of his TimothyLane1hat” to put a smile on your face or to liven up a situation.

Over his childhood years, Tim had a variety of animals. Among the many and varied ones, a ferret, alligator and several different reptiles.

Tim and Sandy both had an open heart for all.  Throughout the years, their home was a “Safe Haven” for many young people.  Their friendships were varied and encompassed many from all walks of life.  Their door was always open.

Timothy will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

TimothyLane2Tim is survived by his wife Sandra Lane, son Gerald, sisters: Sandy Revell, Pam Benoit, Tammy Holeman, brother, Steve Lane and several nieces and nephews.

His “Celebration of Life” will be held November 2, 2013, 12:00pm

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Totem Lake Building: 13320 NE 32nd. St.  Kirkland, WA. 98034

His burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery at a later date

I didn’t have that many close friends in high school, but Tim Lane was one of them. I dreaded going to school, but because of Tim it was bearable, and sometimes even fun. I moved away after my sophomore year, and Tim and I lost contact until very recently, almost fifty years later. Our long telephone conversations wiped out those fifty lost years and Tim and I were buddies again, as we will be, in spirit, always. Come to find out, he also has a wonderful family, and my friendship, best wishes and prayers are with them.

So sorry to hear about your husband. I graduated from Burlington-Edison in 1967 as well. Tim sounds like a remarkable person and missed deeply by so many. I share your faith and know that you will be reunited with him again. In the next while be gentle with yourselves and accept all the blessings that people want to bestow on you. Heavenly Father knows you, and loves you all, God bless you.

Sandy, Gerry and all the family,

Sam and I are very sorry to hear of Tim’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are for your strength and comfort. Our family has endured so much sadness and loss this year with the passing of Bill, April and Tim. Take extra good care of yourself during this time and cherish all the family memories. We are thinking of you and sending you hugs.

My fondest memory of Tim was when Kristen and I came out to visit one summer when Kyle and Gerry were just little tikes and we took the boys swimming in the pool at your apt. Tim was such a loving father and so sweet to Kyle! He will be missed! My heart is with both Sandy and Gerry and we will be in Seattle soon to wrap our arms around both of you. We love you with all our hearts!

Tim had a kind heart. I noted that he was always polite…wanted to do what was the right thing to do… He had a contagious laugh; he could laugh at himself, too. Never really seemed down…although,at times, he certainly had reason to be. He’ll be remembered by many of us as an upbeat person…a path many of us could follow, and do better by emulating. Tim: See you sooner than it will end up seeming, how the time will have flown. Your friend, Ray…

Dear Sandy, Gerry and other family,
I really enjoyed Tim’s great sense of humor! He was our Home Teacher for a while a few years ago. He laughed easy and made me feel comfortable in his presence. Tim was also incredibly smart. He had such practical wisdom. He would share stories that were amazing. I am grateful for his military service. What a sacrifice he made for our Country. One thing really stood out to me was his kindness and love for his family. I know how much he loves Sandy and Gerry. I am sure he still watches over you from the Heavens.
I pray Our Heavenly Father will send blessings to help you through this difficult time and throughout your future. It has been a hard few years for your family.
I hope and pray that you will see and feel The Lord’s Hand through the blessings of other people to you. I also hope you feel a sense of comfort that Tim is no longer suffering with pain.
    My Love to you,
    Anita Adams

    Dear Sandy, Gerry and Family,
It was an honor to be aquainted with Tim the past five plus years. He always had a smile on his face no matter the pain or trial he was suffering. He loved to talk and laugh. We will always remember his contagious laugh. (It would make us laugh too.) We know that he dearly loved his family, especially Sandy and Gerry. We admired how Tim would care for Sandy and Gerry so tenderly. He also loved to share memories with us of each member of his family. We loved to see the twinkle in his eyes when he would tell us of all the pets he had as a child. He loved animals. He was so very proud of his service for our Country. Above all he loved the Lord and the LDS Church. He was a kind and sweet man. He will be missed by so many.
We pray that you will be comforted knowing that Tim no longer is suffering and that he is watching over you. We also pray for you to find comfort and peace at this difficult time and that you will feel the love of many who love you also.
    Sincerely,
    Paul and Jeanine Butler
