Brian Trapp
September 1962-December 2011
Brian was born in the Kirkland Hospital September 10, 1962. He was a delight and joy to his father and me.
Growing up he always was interested in construction. His Dad on Sunday would take him to construction sites. He knew at a very early age he would be an Engineer.
He was very active in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle in his Sophomore year. Scouting introduced him to hiking and camping. By the time he was a Junior in High School he had hiked across the Olympic Mountains twice.
Also when he was a Senior in High School he took his first jump out of a plane. I might add that was the first and last time.
He graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1980 and went to the University of Washington and graduated in 1984 with a Civil Engineer degree. He worked for two years and decided to go back to the University of Washington and get his Masters Degree. He loved the challenges in being involved in building various types of buildings. He was most recently employed with SNC-Lavalin working on the construction of Power Plants.
Regardless of the weather he still hiked and camped. He loved the outdoors. He took up hunting with two of his friends Bill and Scott. He was excited when he got his elk.
He had a wonderful sense of humor. A very thoughtful caring person.
I was proud to be his mother.

Dear Carol,
I was shocked to hear about Brian and I know how hard it is to loose a son. I wish you well and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Dear Carol & family, We were shocked to hear the very sad news about Brian! We send our heartfelt prayers to you, your daughter and family! We won’t be able to attend the services living so far away, and on top of that; we are attending a very dear dear friends memorial on Wednesday who was killed by a train! He was young too, just 46 yrs old. It is surreal that Brian has passed so early in time. We offer our deepest condolences to his immediate family and friends. Brian was well liked at SNC-Lavalin and was recognized for his personal best on more than one occasion. Brian was the Civil Engineering Lead on the Project I help support. He was a joy to work with and I will miss his quick wit and sense of humor that always brought laughter abound.

We in the Civil/Structural group at SNC-Lavalin always enjoyed Brian’s positive attitude and quick wit. I was shocked to hear of his passing. I want to express my sadness that he’s gone — heartfelt condolences and sympathy go to his family, and to friends he held close. All of us will miss him.

My condolences … I’m sorry to hear about Brian’s passing. Brian and I were roommates in college. He was always ready for hard work and hard play (including 2 am romps up Tiger Mountain!). My best wishes to Brian’s family. Jeff

I knew Brian as Cathy’s big brother, and am so sorry for your loss. My best memory of Brian was tagging along with your family at Payne Field for my first ever airshow, where he was completely in his element.

Carol and Cathy, it was so nice to see the two of you at the memorial today and get reconnected. I just wish it were under different circumstances.
I will never forget Brian and my childhood experiences in the “dirt pile” playing with the Tonka trucks. I hope God will put a “dirt pile” in heaven so that Brian and I can play one more time.

I am shocked to learn of Brian’s passing. We had many great times in Boy Scouts and at th U of W. I remember very fondly the times I had with Brian on long hikes and summer camps. He was always in good spirits. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mom (Mary Ann) just found out about Brian’s passing and passed the sad news on to me. I just wanted you to know your relatives here in Minnesota are thinking of you during this most difficult of times.
