Sharon Lynn Drake

Sharon Lynn Drake
Sharon Lynn Drake gently passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, August 14th, 2026 at her home in Snohomish, WA.
Sharon was born on November 29th 1959, in Dover, New Hampshire, the only daughter of Charles and Ruth Drake’s family of eight children. Even though spending most of her adult life in the Pacific Northwest, Sharon remained a proud New Englander – often embarking on pilgrimages to her roots – staying connected to her family, her friends, and her history.
Unbounded, multi-faceted creativity was both her vocation and avocation. An accomplished floral designer, Sharon added beauty and grace to countless weddings, bouquets and banquets. In her indoor plant design business, she transformed many drab offices and plain public places into more inviting and interesting spaces. During the holiday season, Sharon was busy applying her talents to decorating homes and businesses, adding a flair that heightened the joys of the season. And when she turned her creative juices to other endeavors, such as costuming entire musicals and creating themed parties, magic happened.
Nature was her tonic. When feeling restless, Sharon would declare that she “needed nature” and off she would go- usually short trips to the mountains or beaches near home. But she also extended her explorations. From the rain forests and volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest to the deserts and canyons of the American Southwest and to the islands of Maine, Sharon recharged her spirit and reveled in the grandeur of nature.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Ruth Drake of Rollinsford NH; brothers Tim, Jim, Dan, Dennis, Scott, and John Drake also of NH; her daughter Ronda {Oliver) Alderette Murphy of Snohomish WA; granddaughters Charlie, Lola, Jasper, and Vera; Scott Olson her partner of 27 years.
A devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend and partner, Sharon loved much and was much loved. She will be missed.
