Cheryl Ann Carey

Cheryl Ann Carey was 79 years old when she passed away May 5th 2026 at Edmonds Swedish Hospital.

She was born October 17th 1946 in Seattle WA. Cheryl attended schools in Seattle, California, and Oahu, where she met her future husband Jeff Carey at Kailua High School.

She was married to Jeff for 50 years. Cheryl worked for over 30 years as a bookkeeper / receptionist for a physiatrist in Edmonds WA.

Her Passion was playing the piano which she started at a very young age, as well as singing and playing the guitar. She performed many shows including one that shared a stage with Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Next to music, she cared deeply for Mother Nature and animals, especially whales and the condition of their environment. Sailing was a huge part of her life throughout her marriage. Many summer vacations were spent with family taking the boat to favorite marinas and anchorages throughout the Puget Sound, one of her favorites being the San Juan Islands. Jeff and Cheryl joined the Edmonds Corinthian Yacht Club in the late 70s and enjoyed many weekends cruising and socializing with other members.

Cheryl is survived by her son Brian, his fiancée Debbie, her sister Susan Thompson, and brother in law David Thompson.
