Kenneth “Ken” Max Braaten
August 6, 1939 – February 28, 2025

Kenneth Max Braaten
Ken Braaten entered the arms of Jesus in his Redmond, Washington home early Friday morning February 28, 2025, surrounded by family.
Kenneth “Ken” Max Braaten was born on August 6, 1939, to Kenneth and Rosella Braaten in Bend, Oregon and is survived by his beautiful wife of 66 years, Harrietta. He is also survived by his children Darrin Braaten (Annette), and Denise Erickson (Dana) and their eight grandchildren and seven (soon to be nine) great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Kay, his parents Kenneth and Rosella Braaten, two sisters, Mary Beth Braaten and Joanne Braaten Jones (Gary) and is survived by brother’s John Braaten, Sam Braaten (Connie), Jim Braaten, and many nieces, nephews, and other family members, near and far.
Ken loved his family first and foremost. He would do anything for them. Ken was also the consummate collector. He lived for garage sales and could not pass up buying something if he thought he could make a few dollars on it. Ebay became his friend and nemesis over the years as he hoped the rest of the world would be as excited as he was about his Coffee Grinders, Lucy Bears, Depression Glass, Marbles, and many other collections. One man’s “junk” was often Ken’s “treasure.”
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Corvallis, Oregon at Redemption Church on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The service will be held at 2:00 pm followed by a reception with light refreshments. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations can be made to Gentiva Hospice in Ken Braaten’s name.
