CoraLee (Ollis) Souther was born on April 25, 1932 in Senia, North Carolina. She went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2025
Her family moved from North Carolina to the Wallowa Valley in Northeast Oregon when she was young, where she lived there with her mom and dad, Leola and Earl Ollis, as well as her three brothers, Richard, Ben and Estel Ollis.
Soon after she was out of school, she married Fred Tippett. Fred was in the Air Force, so they lived in many different places. Together, they had four children, Paul Dean Tippett, Deana Lee Albers, Wanda Michelle Torres, and Fred Kevin Tippett. The marriage ended after almost 16 years and a few years later she met and married Leonard Souther. Leonard had three children of his own, Bonnie Yunker, Russell Souther and Brenda Robinson.
Cora went to cosmetology school in Reno, Nevada shortly before her marriage to Fred ended.
She went to work in Shoreline, Washington, at Ridgecrest Beauty Salon, until she and Wanda went into business together, moved it across the street and renamed it The Bronze Clipper.
Cora, Wanda and Deana then opened another salon in Monroe, Washington called Salon Techne’. After several years, they sold the Monroe Salon. Cora then went to work at an assisted living home in Kirkland where Deana worked with her until she retired at age 75.
The most important thing in Cora’s life was her faith and her family. Never did they question her love. Anyone you talked to and ask about Cora will say she was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. She was the most caring, sincere, loving, and selfless person. That is why she was known as The Dove. Cora loved everyone and everyone loved her.
Cora’s legacy of love continues.
Cora is survived by her children: Deana, Wanda, Fred, Bonnie, Russell, and Brenda. Loved by all, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and unconditional love. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, with another on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Souther, her parents, Earl and Leola, and her brothers, Ben, Richard, and Estel., her son, Paul Tippett, and her grandson, Garrett Albers.
She will be extremely missed.
