Jean Marilyn Danielson
It is with great sorrow to announce our beloved mother Jean Marilyn Danielson passed away October 24th, 2024, in her home in Seattle, Washington at the age of 90.
Jean Danielson was born April 19th, 1934, in Port Angeles, Washington, grew up in Pysht and raised in the Merrill and Ring logging camp. She graduated from Port Angeles High School and then graduated magna cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. She went on to teach first grade.
In her teenage years she was initiated into The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, went through the chairs and became a Grand Officer. She continued volunteering for many years when her daughter followed in her footsteps.
On September 22nd, 1956, she married Don Danielson and began their life in Seattle, Washington. They were married for 68 years. Her greatest love in life was her family and home. She gave her whole heart to her children and grandkids. She and our dad loved to travel and went to many countries in their lifetime. They were both curious and adventurous. She was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. Being a good friend was important to her and her home was a welcome place for everyone in her life. She was strong, brave, and thoughtful.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Cliff Danielson, Craig Danielson (Susan), Kurt Danielson (Lana) and Karen Danielson (Troy)
Her grandchildren: Jared Danielson (Lauren), Eric Danielson (Mathew), Karl Danielson (Abi), Jenny Danielson, Lily Danielson, and Gracie Butler
Great grandchildren: Tyler Danielson, Jace Danielson, and Elliot Danielson
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Roberta Cogburn, Earnest Cogburn and her husband Don Danielson.
A celebration of her life will be held in Ballard, Washington, April 13th at Ray’s Boathouse from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Please RSVP if attending to Karen, karendanielson.kd@gmail.com
