Eric Beorn Gatterdam
6/9/1971 – 12/21/2024
Eric was a loving and generous father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Eric grew up in a house that loved games. At a young age he learned to play pinochle and other games with his family.
The family moved from Wisconsin to Alaska in 1982.
Eric loved to ride his snow machine, play hockey, play football, travel, and go camping.
Eric completed a degree in mathematics from University of Fairbanks, Alaska followed by numerous computer certificates. He loved working on and building computers both for work on his off time. He moved around to a variety of locations before he took permanent residence in Washington.
Eric was popular among his friends with a laid back attitude and a rather peculiar fast-witted sense of humor. He married a wonderful woman who gave birth to his beloved son.
Eric taught his son math and passed his love for sports, adventure, baking, and computers to him. Eric loved to cook, bake, and take wine classes. He often had large dinner parties for friends and family demonstrating his culinary skills.
Everyone that knew Eric loved him and he will be missed by many. However, if Eric were still here he would say don’t grieve my loss but celebrate my life. Previously, Eric cooked for and attended a celebration of life for his beloved father.
At a later date, there will be a celebration of life in both Washington and in Alaska. If you are interested in additional information please contact his sister, Kirstin at alaskajasper@gmail.com.
