Karen Lawrence
We remember Karen Lawrence (Ostbo), whose spirit departed from us on November 13th at the age of 72. Karen was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness. To have known Karen was to have known what unconditional love was.
Karen was born and raised in Bellevue, WA. While attending Bellevue High School she met the love of her life at a dance at Lake Hills Roller Rink. After graduation Karen attended Seattle Community College for a degree in art. Dean and Karen were married after his time from the service summer of 1973. She worked for several years at Virginia Mason Hospital before taking a job at The Bon Marche in Bellevue. After taking time off to have her three children, Karen decided that she spent plenty of time at the school already and became the Clyde Hill Elementary School head cook for twenty years.
In her retirement Karen loved to spend her time shopping the aisles of Goodwill, watching her shows at night and traveling to Arizona. But the thing she loved the most was being there for her kids and grandkids supporting and loving them in everything they did.
Karen is survived by husband Dean, children Jesse (Maria), Martin (Jocelyn) and Benna (Taylor); grandkids Anelise, Owen, Deacon, Lillian, Keifer and Lainey; mother Lillian; brothers Arnie and Paul (Regina); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery Friday, December 6th at 10:00AM. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life Lunch at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on NE 20th in Bellevue at 12:00PM.
