Peter Thomas Pisk
October 8,1938 – January 1, 2011
Peter was born in Vienna, Austria, to Karl and Theodora Pisk. With his sister Lisbeth, the family came to America in 1941, when Peter was three years old.
A talented artist, Peter created pen and ink drawings on whatever media was available. He could expertly sketch portraits from magazine photos, sometimes on the back of a napkin. He left behind forty-eight years worth of carefully thought out hand-made cards, one for each year of his marriage.
After 31 years of dedicated service, Peter retired from his job with the Bellevue School District. During those years one of his responsibilities was to work with developmentally disabled kids, mentoring and teaching them job skills, which he really enjoyed doing.
Peter loved old movies and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially football and baseball. He was a collector who delighted in old comic books and rare records, and took pleasure in visiting antique shops with his wife, Janet, and friends. He also enjoyed traveling occasionally, and captured many interesting hours of video footage on his trips.
He also treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, Fiona and Duncan.
Peter is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet, his sister, Lisbeth, daughter, Ronda (Rudy), and his two grandchildren Fiona and Duncan.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m., Thursday, 13 January 2011 at Assumption Church, 6201 – 33rd Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98115, with committal service following at Calvary Cemetery, 5041 – 35th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98105.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia Foundation.

Pete and I first met in 1974 and we will miss his smile, intellect, and kindness (and his pencil that he always used to order 45 rpm records). May he rest in peace; we will always remember him. Our thoughts are with you.

Peter and I grew up together attending the same schools from grade school(Bryant) through High School(Roosevelt). I will always remember Peter as being a most kind, gentle and soft spoken person. These were uncommon traits in most students of our generation and I appreciated him for this. I’ve had no contact with Peter since our High School graduation. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing.

I meet Pete thru Bob Bloom and Bob Hover.We Would get together on Saturdays at Bob Blooms and discuss old 45rpm,s[Pete had all the good and rare ones!]and film Noir movies,what a great guy and everyone loved Pete. He will be missed by all.Dennis M. DeWitt – Shoreline.
I first met Pete in 1972 through Hal Light(deceased) my best friend in high school. We shared the same passion for collecting records, especially vintage Rhythm & Blues groups and taught each other the finer points of collecting. Pete, Hal and myself spent many hours in the upstairs recreation room at the house in Lake City, and I have to say that they were some of the best times of all. It was a person like Pete Pisk who made collecting fun and in some ways it hasn’t been this much fun since. We all loved you, Pete. Take care. Bob Hover
